Design a small apartment in Beijing

If the rooms of your apartment cannot boast a large square, if you need to place two or more functional areas in one room and at the same time you would like to maintain a sense of spaciousness and freedom, then the design project of one Beijing apartment can be useful to you. In medium-sized rooms, designers, together with the owners of the apartments, managed to place not only all the necessary furniture, but also not to limit themselves in the decor, while preserving the lightness and freshness of the image of the home. Consider the example of two rooms - a living room and a bedroom, how they got it. The living room space is divided into two functional areas - a resting place and a dining room. First, we consider a relaxation segment with upholstered furniture and a video zone.

Thanks to the snow-white finish, high ceilings and a large panoramic window, even a modest-sized room seems spacious. Obviously, against the background of white walls, furniture of any color will look advantageous, but the designers decided not to risk it and use exclusively natural shades when choosing items of upholstered and cabinet furniture. A modular sofa with light upholstery - is not only able to accommodate several people in front of the TV or for conversation, but also become a sleeping place for guests staying overnight.

Not only the snow-white finish of the ceiling and walls contributes to the visual expansion of space, large mirrors almost from shelf to ceiling visually wash away the boundaries of the room. Light flooring and golden shades in furniture and lighting fit perfectly into the light palette of the room, giving the interior some chic.

An unconditional decoration of this zone was an old handmade cabinet with lace carvings. The design of the vintage storage system shows oriental motifs, which are also relevant in the modern interior of the home.

Just a step away from the lounge area, there is a compact dining group, which has become the basis of the dining room segment. A light round table with a marble top and transparent plastic chairs created an incredibly light, light, almost weightless ensemble.

The Beijing apartment has many storage systems, some of which are built-in wardrobes, occupying the space from floor to ceiling. So the dining area is located on the background of a cabinet with light gray facades. This storage system, in addition to its main function, is a space-zoning element.

The dining room segment is completed by an elegant chandelier with a gilded frame and snow-white shades. Obviously, a different light source is needed for different functional areas. And although the chandeliers in the living room and dining room are different in design, they are connected by an identical choice of the base material of the structure, which leads to the creation of a single, harmonious image of the entire room.

The apartments located in Beijing have a little wall decor, although the snow-white tone of the walls acts as the most ideal background for artwork. But those small paintings that are on the walls of a Beijing apartment look very impressive, attract attention.

Next, go to a modest bedroom. Obviously, for a room with such a small area, snow-white wall decoration and the choice of a light palette for furniture were one of the few design options. The width of the room does not allow to arrange the bed with perimeter access, so its foot rests against the system of built-in wardrobes.

Not every city apartment has the opportunity to organize a dressing room in a separate, albeit small, room. Most owners of standard apartments have to equip all storage systems for clothes, shoes and accessories directly in the bedroom. The only thing that can be done to “facilitate” the rather monumental appearance of storage systems located from ceiling to floor is to choose a light color scheme for the execution of facades.

At the other end of the room is another storage system with a unique, inimitable design. A dark wardrobe of small size is quite capable of becoming the focal center of the room, drawing attention to itself even from the central piece of furniture in the bedroom - the bed.

As you know, there are not many storage systems. Probably, it was this principle that the owners of the Beijing apartment were guided by, decorating their home. Those who inherited a similar rarity or managed to find it in an antique store will not give up the opportunity to shine with a unique piece of furniture, even in an absolutely modern interior.

Unusual decor with oriental motifs adorns the facade of the wardrobe. Metal carving looks luxurious, especially against a dark background.

The image of a bright bedroom with dark accents is completed by a luxurious chandelier with three tiers of glass decorative elements. The dark color of the base of the pendant lamp goes well with the color palette of an antique cabinet.
